Emily Arial, biomedical engineering PhD student received awards from the ARCS Foundation and Merck. The Merck award was awarded through the women’s chemist committee in the American Chemical Society. Arial is one of eight individuals recognized who will present their research at an awards symposium held during the Fall ACS national meeting. The ARCS Foundation awarded Arial the McNichols Foundation Scholar.

“I was extremely thankful to receive the Merck Research Award, which allowed me to present my research to a broad scientific audience, connect with leading experts in my field of interest, and further my academic and professional development. I am at a critical point in my early career where networking is imperative to securing post-doc positions and advancing as an independent scientist, and this award provided me an invaluable opportunity to do so,” said Arial.
